The main objective of the GIIS Counselling Centre is to reach out; to share and assist the student, teacher and parent community at GIIS. Counselling services include career counselling, career guidance talks, strategy and intervention planning, training, information sharing on student related issues, forums and campaigns.
The approach to GIIS career counselling has seen effective results. Students at GIIS are assisted by a career counsellor in consultation with their parents and teachers in making informed choices. From choice of curricula to subject choices and admission requirements, students are advised and counselled on the course of action for further studies. The department also facilitates coaching for SAT and conducts the PSAT of the College Board. Active since 2005, GIIS placements have been impressive and GIIS students have received offers of admission from prestigious universities around the world.
Recently, GIIS has taken the next steps to make the career counselling and college placement cell more professional. We have partnered with Univariety – an organization that mentors students and ensures that they have multiple higher study options (both domestic and international) to choose from. Univariety invites students to various free online sessions conducted by professors, announces scholarships, helps the students receive conditional offers from multiple universities and answers any query that the student may have.
The Univariety team of experts are available through an online system linked to the school website. Senior students should click on the link below to create their profile so that your specific preferences around higher studies are available to the school counsellor and to the Univariety team to analyze and support. Please fill in the information as honestly and accurately as possible so that the system can be most productive for you.
