R.S.K. Higher secondary school has instituted All India R.S.K. Inter School clamation Contest. This is a regular annual feature. The first All India R.S.K. Inter school Declamation contest took place in November 2006. The Second All India R.S.K. Inter school Declamation contest took place on the campus of the school on Saturday 8.09.2007. Teams of participants from different schools including Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun took part in the contest. The contest had three sections in English, Tamil and Hindi. In each section articipants deliberated on themes. The Theme given for illustration in English “Bees Cannot suck honey and sting at the same time” , in Hindi and Tamil 
The inauguration of All India R.S.K. Inter school Declamation contest took place at 9.45 A.M. Mr. V. amamurthy, First Addl. Sessions Judge, Tiruchirappalli had been the chief guest of the programme. Welcoming the gathering and explaining the object behind organizing the declamation contest of national character. Mr. P. Varadarajan , principal, R.S.K. Higher Secondary School said that, “Teaching is not telling. The newly defined role for the school and the teacher now is getting the youngster to learn to learn and sharpen problem solving ability”. He added that organizing the declamation contest is one step in that direction. The chief guest Mr. Mr. V. Ramamurthy, First Addl. Sessions Judge, Tiruchirappalli in his address expressed his happiness and satisfaction about R.S.K. Higher Secondary School helping youngsters to fend with life.
The three sections of the contest took place simultaneously. Each section of contest was assessed by a panel of judges. After the contest was over in all three sections, the judgment made in each section by the different judges were tabulated and the winners of the contest were decided. The prize distribution function followed.
In the course of the prize distribution function, the judges who assessed the performance of the participants in the different sections shared their experience with the audience. While thus sharing, the judges placed on record their appreciation for the selection of appropriate themes for the different sections and also the meticulous planning and organization involved in holding the contest. They appreciated the school for the same. Some of the participants and escort teachers also volunteered to share their experience of watching the contest. In the course of their deliberation, they expressed their happiness about being involved in such contest and they praised the school for organizing the contest so well. They expressed that they are eagerly looking forward to the Third All India R.S.K. Inter school Declamation contest next year.
